At present, China’s live pig prices have dropped by more than 50% compared to the price of the peak, an official pointed out that the most fundamental reason is not the influenza epidemic, but overproduction. A few days ago, the number of live pigs exported from Changsha to Guangdong has decreased approximately 30% year-on-year.
After continuous decline of the price of live pigs, the National Development and Reform Commission recently issued a warning that: China’s live pig production has been close to break-even point, to remind farmers reduce pig-feeding.
